Kira Gordon

M.A., Registered Provisional Psychologist

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My work is grounded in the belief that people have an extraordinary capacity to overcome adversity and even come out the other side more resilient. I aim to create a safe, empathetic, and understanding space to help aid clients reach their goals and create lasting change even through the most challenging times.

My clients are most often teens and adults navigating trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. While I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, I have a particular passion for working with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. I believe real healing happens when we address both the mind and body, which is why my practice blends traditional talk therapy with body-based (somatic) and skills-focused approaches. Together, we work to regulate the nervous system, build practical coping tools, and help you shift out of "surviving” and move into a place of “thriving”.

My work is deeply trauma informed, and guided by the understanding that adversity, loss, and early experiences shape our emotional and physical well-being across the lifespan. Prior to my work as a psychologist, I worked with at-risk children, youth and families. This work continues to inform my work as a psychologist.

My work uses an integrative, evidence-based approach tailored to your unique needs. I draw from a variety of modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help process trauma and deep-seated patterns, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for shifting unhelpful thoughts and building practical skills, and somatic, body-based practices to strengthen the mind–body connection and restore a sense of internal safety.

The relationship with your therapist can be incredibly impactful. I consider it an honour to walk alongside my clients and welcome the opportunity to support your journey.

Kira is currently offering in-person and online appointments.

Please note that online therapy is only available for individuals living within the province of Alberta.
