Emma Chrenek
Intern Mental Health Therapist
Hello, and welcome to Edgar Psychological! My name is Emma, and I recently graduated with my Master’s of Counselling from City University. I am currently in the process of registering as a psychologist in Alberta. While completing my registration, I am an Intern Mental Health Therapist here at our warm and inviting little clinic, offering sliding-scale fees.
My therapeutic style is integrative, collaborative, and rooted in creating a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space. I value authenticity in the therapeutic relationship and honour the individuality each client brings into the room. My approach draws on evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), to support clients in building practical skills, strengthening relationships, developing emotional resilience, and moving toward meaningful change.
I work with teens and adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, life transitions, gender and sexuality exploration, self-esteem, emotion regulation, trauma, and grief. I am also expanding my knowledge base through ongoing training in areas such as trauma-focused interventions (including EMDR), as well as training surrounding eating disorders, OCD, and sports psychology.
I’m honoured to accompany clients on their journey toward greater balance, clarity, and fulfillment. It would be a privilege to support you as we work together to understand your experiences, uncover your strengths, and explore what feels possible in your life.
Emma is currently offering in-person and online appointments.
Please note that online therapy is only available for individuals living within the province of Alberta.
