Emma Chrenek

M.C., Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC)

Hello there, and welcome! My name is Emma, I am so happy you are here!

I approach my role as a counsellor from a collaborative, warm, safe, and non-judgmental space. I value authenticity in the therapeutic relationship and deeply honour the individuality each client brings into the room. I often describe therapy as a shared process: you bring your story, and I bring tools, perspective, empathy, and genuine human connection.

My approach draws on evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Together, these approaches support clients in building practical emotion regulation skills, strengthening relationships, developing resilience in the face of hardship, and moving toward meaningful, values-aligned change.

I work with individuals aged 13 and older navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, neurodiversity (ADHD, ASD, etc.), life transitions, gender and sexuality exploration, self-esteem, emotion regulation, trauma, and grief. I continue to expand my knowledge in areas such as eating disorders, OCD, and self-compassion.

I’m honoured to walk alongside clients in their journey. It would be a privilege to support you as we explore your experiences, uncover your strengths, and move toward what feels possible in your life.

***I am currently a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) in the process of getting registered as a Provisional Psychologist***

Emma is currently offering in-person and online appointments.

Please note that online therapy is only available for individuals living within the province of Alberta.
