Julie-Anne Smith

Professional Counsellor Practicum Student

Julie-Anne brings a grounded and human-centred presence to her counselling work. Rooted in the belief that people need to feel heard and safe before meaningful change can occur, she creates a calm, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace.

Drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities, Julie-Anne tailors her approach to each client. She integrates perspectives on thoughts, the body, and relationships while allowing each client's needs and readiness to guide the work. Psychoeducation is woven throughout the counselling process, helping clients feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in their own growth.

Julie-Anne is attentive to the patterns, experiences, and underlying dynamics that shape how people move through the world. Clients often describe her as calming, steady, and easy to open up to.

Currently completing her Professional Counselling Diploma at Rhodes Wellness College, Julie-Anne is completing her practicum at Edgar Psychological. She is especially drawn to supporting people who want to better understand themselves, make sense of their experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Julie-Anne is currently offering in-person and online appointments. She is able to offer short-term therapy

Please note that online therapy is only available for individuals living within the province of Alberta.
